So today i went to the local fish store after getting rid of my pike, and while there my friend and i met a guy looking to sell some fish. I was trying to find something to go with my wolf fish but am still stuck on if i wanna keep him or not. Sio the guy was looking to sell a 6 inch red terror, a pike cichlid, a few GT'S, and a big black belt cichlids. So I bought the red terror and pike cichlid for just $20. The guy was also interested in a trade for either my wolf or the clown knife for his black belt cichlid. Do you think it would be a good trade or now. I thought long and hard about the direction i want to go with my fish and when i walk into my room all you see in water and some decor but no fish and i think I wanna go back to seeing fish swimming around. Do you thin the black belt trade for either of my fish would be a good trade or no?

If you want to see fish swiming, then yes it's a good trade. If you love your wolf and knife and really would miss them then no. I've traded fish several times only to miss them, go get new ones, setup a new tank for them, and then have the new fish not live up to my expectations. I would think about for a day or two and then make a desesion. My .02 on the situation.

I guess it'd depend on the size of his fish and condition. I think as far as the CK goes unless you have a huge tank I'd trade it and if you're wanting something lively the wolf could go too. Like the guy above said if you really like what you have now you could be in for dissapountment if u trade your fish away but blackbelts are pretty sweet and I would say much more lively than knives or wolfs. So ya seems fair

i have no real attachment to the knife fish because its a real pain in the *** as it just wants to fight all the time. The wolf on the other hand is one of my favorite fish and if it could work with tankmates than i would keep it. So far i havent had any problems with the wolf but the knife has tried to fight a few times

A few years back I was keeping several rare fish solo, mainly just because they were rare and not because I was particularly attached to them. I decided I wanted a community set up in each of my tanks and got rid of some of the real pains. I don't miss them at all and my tanks are mostly peaceful now. While Pikes have different aggression levels didn't you just get rid of a Pike because it was too aggressive?

Yes I did but this is a bellycrawler and hasn't shown any real aggression and stays far smaller than my old pike
