I just went to a new lfs and bought a new clown pleco and black red tailed shark. Even better news is that I have been looking around for a new tank for about 8 months now and I came across a 220 gallon for $1,500 including stand,tank,lighting,and glass tops. To give you an idea of the kind of deals in my area I was looking to get a 125 for $1,200 so almost double the gallonage for $300 more. Awesome news just have to ask parent for the green light since I have about $1,400 now in savings for a new tank.

Nice pick-ups. But are the prices really that steep by you? In chicago i just saw a 100g bare go for 90 bucks. I would have gotten it, but my mom threatened to sell my fish.

Yeah it sucks I saw a brand new 75 gallon bare go for $273.

Umm I hate to bust your bubble but those tanks are not worth that kind of money. I just sold my 120 plus stand for dirt cheap $200. I'm sure you can find a very nice used tank 120-125 gallon for about 300-500 bucks. Don't spend more then 500 on a 125 gallon tank unless it comes with everything

I know parent are cautious of buying used tanks because of the fear of them leaking.
I think I will be able to get this 220 gallon anyway.
