We went on a road trip over the weekend and visited a neat little wildlife park near Rotorua here in NZ.

A few pics of the fish they have there.

These are rainbow and brown trout in a small pool. The pool is fed by a large mineral water spring which keeps the water quality clear enough to keep trout.

This is the stream that flows through the park, also full of rainbow and brown trout. These ones are huge, about 2 ft long. We were feeding them pellets from the bridge. These are just wild fish, they hang out in the park for the free food.

Another pool has native eels. Note the duck for scale. These eels would be about 80 years old.

Some cool fish if you have the home for them. :)

NZ Ftw, would love to go there one day.

there huge

remember seeing those eels when I stayed with friends in Eltham, Taranaki. They had a river running through their property and we'd go out at night to look at the crayfish and eels. I was told they'd lose lots of ducklings to these eels-couldn't believe the size of them
