All three species of angels. Altum, Scalare and Leopoldi. The Altum are very young the others are young adults. The last two pics ia a wild cross it's about 7.5" tall with a 3.5 SL body length.

Tom, you've got some beautiful Angels! I'm currently keeping a half dozen each of wild P. leopoldi and P. scalare ("Peruvian Altums") The wild cross is really spectacular. Do you have just the one specimen of the cross?

Thank's Harry, Yes I only have the one but I agree it's a very nice looking fish. The fish in the top picture is a wild sacalare from Rio Nanay Peru I have nine of them. I also have 5 P.Leopoldi & 4 P. Altum, all 3 species wild cought. The Loes get some very nice coloration in their dorsal fins and into their tails. I also like the way they will sometimes pack tighthy together and swime like a squadron of fighter jets. The Peruvians are starting to get big now, I started with 5 last october lost two for an unknown reason and just got 6 more to be the center piece in a large tank. The altums are very small in a 45 gal grow out tank and wrer pretty beat up on arrivel but they are comming around and starting to grow now. So I have finally achived the Pterophyllum hat trick all three species wild cought.

Thanks for looking I wasn't feeling the love over here. I thought maybe people were being polite by not posting "those are some butt ugly fish".........lol

Tom, no ugly fish here. They all look great! Getting all 3 Angel species as wilds is not easy, but well worth the effort. I don't have the space at the moment to properly house Altum angels, so they will have to be a future project for me. I converted almost all my tanks to keeping wild Discus, but I will some day try my luck at keeping true Altums. Good luck with them and keep us posted on their progress.

very nice. a fan of wilds I see

Oh yeah! Wild and wild type Angel fish and Discus are a passion of mine. Mother nature is the best breeder I know, we don't even come close.

Wow, beautiful fish! When I have the space, I want to raise a few wild type angels from a normal LFS to adulthood. You never see those bigger than a few inches in my experience!
Thanks for the pics, angels are very underestimated IMO.
