Thank you for the great compliment!

Tank is a 55 gallon (was mistakenly told it was a 65 upon purchase however). I have (5) 2.5" inch discus, (3) 4" discus, (3) half-black angels and (4) skunk cories. Might sound a bit over crowded but I do 50% water changes every other day. Every one gets along perfectly thus far.

Here is a full tank shot:

Here are some pics of the largest discus in my tank (not pictured in the set above):

thats awesome. thats exactly what i will be doing soon with my discus tank-40gal. i like the plain set up. i had a planted tank with my discus but had too many problems with plants and high temps and debris. i currently have one dlue diamond, a small red turquoise and a red turquoise/blue diamond mix (i think). planning on getting 2 more. maybe a malboro red or pidgeon blood and a red melon.

i am only gonna put in a centre piece drift wood and gravel and paint the back black, then add a school of 6 cories. i aslo like the skunk cories but they are a bit hard to find here.

your tank doesnt look overcrowded, even when they grow out i think they will be fine.

Yeah, man. Those are some truly gorgeous fish! I'm kind of workin' on the missus to let me do a fully planted discus tank in my living room.
Question: Did you get those pidgeon bloods from Wattley? I was looking at his site yesterday and drooling over the leopards.

BTW - Nice angels, too!

Hey cockroach (great name!:)) - thanks again for the nice compliments. I really like the look of a planted tank but as you already mentioned they are a really pain to maintain. High temps and plants definitely don't mix. Plus if your trying to grow out discus then barebottom is definitely the way to go. Could you post some pics of your fish - I'd love to see them!

SIC - thanks for the compliments as well. Believe it or not I didn't get any of these fish from private breeders. They were all purchased from my lfs. Now, I know what they say about fish from the lfs but when I saw these they didn't look too bad and they were pretty inexpensive. There was one more there that I really wanted but when I went back all the pretty discus were gone.

Oh, and thanks for the comments on the angels. They are half-blacks and I got them when they were dime sized. They seem to be growing right before my eyes! No problems between them and the discus thus far - keeping my fingers crossed on that. They have there bars showing in those pics but they ordinarily don't.

I used to keep discus fish I had a 80 gal planted discus thak; but that was years ago... I miss those guys....
