Some of my Florida Gars

Been meaning to get some updated pics, and I finally did. Just 10 of the floridas for today.

Gar 1
My one eye florida that I've had since '09. Already a couple years old when I got it. Currently 14.25" Pictured is it's "good" side.

Originally purchased back in '09. Hasn't really grown since purchased, currently sitting at 12.5"

Originally purchased in '09 at 12" and has done almost nothing growth wise. currently sitting at 13.5"


Gar 4
This is the gar that I've had the longest. Can't even remember when I purchased it. This guy never really grew, got it around 6" and put on a little over an inch per year. Currently just over 12".

Gar 5 and Gar 6 were both purchased on the same day back in October 2010, from 2 different hobbiest. Gar 5 and 6 are both sitting at 14.25".

GAr 7 and 8 are two of my favorites as far as patterning. Picked up these two back in August from the same hobbiest. Currently 14.25" and 13".

Looks like a 55 or 75 gallon? These guys get 3+ feet mate!

you need a 1200 gallon tank and they can all live happily together

Gar 11
Was a trade in at a local store. Missing one of his front fins. Currently 13".


Gar 12
Wild Caught florida. Currently 12.5"

Wild caught florida. Currently 12.5"

Wild caught florida. Currently 13.75"

Wild caught florida. Currently 11.75"


Gars 12-15 were recent pic ups from a LFS that had housed them with some plecos. All had been sucked on by the plecos and were looking pretty bad when I got them. They have healed up considerably but still have a little ways to go.
