Well heres one of my four new Emporer scorps.. you can see a large ciggarette packet (super kings LOL) in the backround for size reference.
And one of my two Israeli Gold Scorps
All Emporers are housed communally in a 3x1x2 vivarium in a typical Rainforest setup. They are chubby little buggers, and very active. They all love digging and have plenty of cork bark hides, you can never find them except for when they are on a mishion around the viv! In my experience, (have kept this species before) they certainly do better communally, if enough space and hiding spots are provided. They do seem to interact, but I don't actually know whether they do.
And the Israeli Golds are housed communally in a 1x1x1 cube with extra height added by lots of securely stacked cork bark. They are are on sand but prefer higher humidity, again its rare you see these two out and about! They are very lazy though will pick up speed when disturbed and prefer to hide. These critters are a little more feisty but soon settle down
Not had much success keeping large groups, as the tank space needed to keep them communal successfully is too big for them all to find food etc..and competition for it is high. With this species they seem to do better again with other scorps in the cage but in my experience fights frequently occur with smaller living quarters, so if anybody is new to keeping them I would reccomend keeping them singlular.
Enjoy!
