I was wondering what the min. tank size is for an ocellaris? Also what a realastic max. size and would fish 8-10 inches be lunch?

minimal tank size, for life is, 8'x3'x2'....

most likely fish 8'' to 10'' would be lunch for a full grown Ocell.

the smallest cichla is a intermedia the second smallest are monoculus, ocellaris, kelberis, orinos, nigromaculata... the rest get larger. realistically occelaris will reach 24+ inch in an aquarium over time.. a 240g for one fish or two cichla with proper filtration and water changes is fine. a 300 gallon with some more with is even better.. 8-10 inch fish are snacks, sorry

:iagree: with b00st, nothing more to add here, so go get that cichla :D

yup...he pretty much got it covered.
but btw, finding an intermedia is going to be VERY hard.
and it only gets about 4 inches smaller than ocells and monos.
IMO not much difference.
