I was recently told Peacock bass couldnt be housed in a 125 gallon tank...

Althought I have seen 125 gallon setups for P-bass.

So my main questions is, could two P-bass, and one cobra pike live in a 125 together for life? I really want to know because I like pike alot and Im getting interested in a P-bass aswell.:)

I have seen 125's with 4 pbass in them! I dont know if they were temporary or what though. The 125 I'm ordering is six feet long. I dont know the full dimensions, only length.

I want Pbass so bad!

you could easily keep peacocks in that tank, especially if you got them at the 2-3" size, but they will easily outgrow that tank. You really need at least a 240 gallon for multiple peacock bass, because of their size. Not to mention as soon as they get big unless your pike is big too, hes gonna be like a noodle to them.

a 125 would be a sweet growout tank for some peacocks, but only if you have a much larger tank waiting for them when they do outgrow the tank.

Unfortuneatly, I dont have a larger tank. Although, this summer Im building an indoor pound out of a rubbermaid stocktank. It's going to be 300+ gallons!

I dont have it planned all the way out, but the wheels are turning.

A 125 would be a great growout tank for these fish....if you could get that pond started asap then id say go for it!! :)

You could probably make it work for a year or 2.. If you are planning on a 300 g stock tank inside your house :) You could then put them in there, when it was completed.. And if that is soon..

The indoor pond is going to be until this summer. I'm going to save up my money after Im done with the 125.

I dont really know how big the pond is going to be, but its definately going to be 300 gallons or more, that I KNOW for sure.

But I really shouldnt be thinking all to much about indoor ponds until I get my 125 up and running. The 125 is going to be planted with lots of bogwood and stuff for caves. Im stocking it with two pike and a bichir.

I might build the pond for aros, or if its big enough two aros, and maybe some pbass with them? I dont know though. I'll think more about it once I get it all set up.

I think pbass are much more interesting when you can see them from the sides. Your 125 could hold them for a while, but they'll just be coloring up around the time they start outgrowing your tank. If you could plan on a larger tank, rather than a larger pond, then I'd say go for it. Otherwise, go for something that'll fit in your 125.

I was thinking the same thing. I cant decide to build a pond, or just buy a huge ass tank this summer.

If I had an Indoor pond it would be above ground ofcrouse and I was thinking I would put a viewing window in.

I have also seen indoor ponds that are clear so you can see all the way around.

Im just going to have to keep looking on craiglist until I find a huge tank. Hopefully there will be a big one by the summer! If there is, Im going to snatch it up if I can. I want a 300 gallon + fishtank in my house, but the house I am in now is very small and the only way I could fit another tank would be to move my dining room table wich isnt going to happen. ( I already asked my mom and she said NO!) Plus, being 14 and wanting monster tanks just makes it even harder.

Thats why I want a pond, so much cheaper then a big tank. I was thinking about getting a farely deep pond and putting a large viewing window on the front.

I'll wait until summer though to get my plans straight.

Thanks for the help.
