On another forum someone posted asking how long a fire eel would live. He said he had it since 02 and it's around 30" long. I was trying to help and guessed maybe 10-15 years. Well he said if it lives very long he's not interested in keeping it because right now he's in a divided portion of a 125g (24" x 18").
I kindly suggested rehoming the poor thing.. then he starts to jump down my throat about how he's had it since 02 and he's not planning on getting rid of it, even starts talking about just throwing it away.
Here's the good part.. he name drops MonsterFishKeeprs.com and says I should never join this site because they are all for keeping very large fish in very small spaces. This guy is a moron, you offer him advice he starts giving personal attacks and he's completely misrepresenting our community on MFK.
"Good luck with all this pious advice. You guys should never go to any fish store and definitely stay away from Monsterfishkeepers.com where they advertise putting large predator fish in tanks that cannot hold them as perfectly as you all would. Maybe we should make sure prisoners get homes not cells or dogs should be killed if they are found on a street and not given a small cage instead. LA alone has 50,000 homeless dogs running around - better not give them food and water at shelters - it's inhumane, huh? See, these are still fish, they actually can handle smaller spaces than humans."
