Was gone for a week hunting, but managed to stop in an area I love and hadn't been to in awhile.
So thought I'd share a few pics
These sandstone outcroppings are called Hoodoo's. If you look long and hard enough you can still find old writings/drawings from traveling tribes ... unfortunately most of the stuff that is easily accessible has been defaced through the years. Plus being sandstone, erosion has taken it's toll as well.


This here is what remains of the foundation of a homesteaders home. They had built their walls out of sandstone, mud and gravel. Still managing to build straight walls, utilizing the mud and gravel to seal in between the chunks of sandstone.



And to think 100 years ago there was a family living here. We've come a long ways since then, but it's good to reflect on where we've come from.
