at the 'Bama Breeze
...at Aquatic Critters in Nashville, TN. The pond consisted of three Henleii, 2 orotango, 1 Scobina, and 1 Motoro all in the 8-12" range. The pond was about 12ft long 4ft wide and 3ft deep. Other inhabitants included many very large plecos and tons of feeder fish.

Sorry for the bad quality photos as they were on my phone but the orotango with blue around the disk was absolutly beautiful! The henleii and orotango were $900 a piece :WHOA: and the motoro and Scobina were $250.

The place in general was VERY nice but prices were extremly high IMO. They also had a nice selection of SW rays. A "teacup" was also available for $90 that had to be no more the 3" in diameter and skinny as all get out. :(

Overall it was a nice visit because of the wide variety of FW and SW fish as well as reptiles. Like I said before prices are high, but its not likely youll see most of the fish offered in a pet store. I would love that blue otorango though!

* Notice one of the many large plecos in the last photo.

Good find.....Pretty good pictures...would love to see more to the Henleii's....
Yes the rays are very over priced! 250 for a smaller Motoro...the Henleii's are a little high too,but rarer.....

I really wish I could have gotten better pics of that orotango. I have never seen anything like it and she is really just stunning! I for sure will get better pictures next time as I always stop by there when I am in Nashvegas.

The price on the Henleii's seem about right with the ban on Exports of Black Rays, and it will only continue to grow.

The 'blue' disc OTORONGO (they spelled it wrong..) might be displaying that blue pattern because it's not of full health.. We get blue Motoros from time to time, and they usually only show the blue pattern when the disc is thin and they are stressed.

The guys are silly for having a ton of feeders and plecos in the tank .. I would agree they are charging too much for all the rays based on the fact they don't know what they are doing! Those plecos will probably kill their prized rays before too long. The water looks cloudy too, but could be the cameraphone ;)

Wish I was close so I could pick up that scobina.

I could have spelled it wrong actually. Its a shame that the blue means unhealthy because it sure was pretty.

I did warn them about the plecs but they shrugged me off like another idiot customer.. When I say big I mean these plecos were huge with some pushing 20"! I also forgot to mention the the pond also housed a couple large RTCs and TSNs.

I wonder if the feeders are the only source of food for the rays. I sure hope not because they were all magnificent fish!

As for the scobina I never got a good look at him because he was under the waterfall the whole time.

Also is it normal for Motoros to be very active? The one in the pond was gliding every where and the otorongo moved quit a bit as well but the Henleii and Scobina were pretty inactive.

Water don't look good.

You looking in it??
