Seen the other gulper thread and just had to post some new pics of mine. Gotta mention this too about my gulper and ID shark. I feed the gulper earthworms,4-5" feeder goldfish, and shrimp. Now one gulper and the ID shark seem to be buddies. They're always together swimming together sleeping together doin the buddy thing. When I feed the feeders I just let them go in the tank and make the gulpers work for it. During this time in the mists of confusion my Gulper has accidently grabbed the ID shark. Now the ID shark is actually only 5" and way skinnier than the feeders, but the gulper recognizes him I guess by taste and immediately spits him out. The first time it happened the ID freaked shooting all over the tank, now though he's totally used to it and handles the incidents like nothing ever happened. I just shared this to show though gulper's are eating machines they have a heart. It also shows that fish that are naturally predatory can be acclimated to tankmates as long as it's done at a young age. I have had to starve my fish to get them to take shrimp and other food stuff and none of my fish have turned on each other during this time. This includes a 11-12" RTC/TSN hybrid who will patrol the tank whiskers searchin for food come across my 3" woodcat and ignore them. Adding fish to my tank is a different story. Every time I tried adding new fish I've had plenty of near disasters and one actual one. New fish are quickly descended upon by the gulpers and hybrid.
