Some older pictures. No longer have him, other fish in the tank did not like him unfortunately.

YAH!! I like him! He has super dark colors that I like. How old was he in the pix? How big?

That sucks! I would have such a hard time with trying to decide on what to get rid of between the two... I have always loved a big ol chunky Texas!

I'd choose the Texas over a Jag! Haven't seen a true cyano Texas like this one in years. They are very aggresive, but not so strong. Back in the late 80's I had a 6" male get his but kicked by a 5" Female Festae. His was always trying to pick fights with all his cichlid tank mates. Very beautiful fish, under appreciated if you ask me.

It was a tough call on what to keep but in the end I have always liked the jag a bit more. The Texas would get "picked on" by the Oscar and much smaller Dempsey from time to time.

In those situations, you've gotta go for the third choice... get another tank.

I just bought this tank earlier in the year and my wife would probably shoot me if I bought another tank.
