From what I've seen, the notatus are a bit slow-growing. The F1 fish I got from Rapps about a year ago are just now at 5 - 6" but they are gorgeous. Unfortunately they all turned out to be female. They still have amazing colors and shape, though.

I would agree except for this guy, he is roughly 3.5" probably, he is a lot larger than the rest, and he is catching up to my super red and rotkeil.
 
Don't be surprised if it's a female. :D For some reason, all my females here are outgrowing my males. The spots start to disappear on them and the yellow/orange color takes over on the throat and gills.
