Having an afterwork hobby is fun. I think i enjoy the building part more than the actual sitting and watch the fish <gasp!> LOL. Well maybe not.
Anyhow, its a 125 with dual overflows. 1" and 3/4" in each overflow. I;m running 1" all the way from the overflow and 1" all the way to the bulk heads on the return, then 3/4 from there to the spray bars.. 1 1/4" durso stand pipes in each overflow with 1/4" airvalves.
I bought a Mag 12 from Big Al's but think I am going to exchange it for a Mag 18 bc I am plumbing in a T with another ball valve in the return line. That way I can use the extra flow for maybe a UV sterilizer or else pipe it back into the sump if the flow is too high. But I think with the 1" pipe, 5 foot vertical climb and almost 6' of horozontal resistance, the Mag 18 wont be enough.
The moonlight is a led strand from superbrightleds and an variable voltage AC/DC transformer. I have it set at 3V in the pic and I can ramp it up to 12V for full on dayglow. I'm setting up the same moonlight system in the canopy for the 125 but with 2 led strands. Canopy light will be a standard 2x4' 40watt floursecent tubes.
