planning to add purigen strictly for water clarity
i use to run carbon on my smaller tanks (45, 46g) and the water clarity was amazing. my 180 does seem a little cloudy and the water is no where near as clear, compared to the smaller tanks with carbon

here is my question with purigen

purigen removes ammonia, will it also decrease the amount of BB since it will remove food for the BB?

can i safely add 500ml (that will filter up to 500) in a 180g tank, which will be split up between 3 canister fitlers?

last thing... can any one recommend a cheap mesh bag that can hold the purigen?

thank you !!!!!! :)

180g
nitrate=10
ammonia=0
nitrite=0
ph=6.7

I ordered this one:

It's cheap and the pores are small enough that it doesn't wind up in your tank.
I put mine in sump after the bio material. So, it flows through the mechanical (micron sock), then the bio media, then finally through the Purigen. This seems to help save the Purigen and not starve the bio media. I also use some Phosguard along with this.

I called SeaChem with similar questions and they are REALLY good with help. I was very impressed with they tech support and knowledge of filtration. Call Them.
