To get straight to the point, how long can a Tat (say 4-5") stay in a 55g?

How well would they do with the tankmates in my sig?

I've read up on them a little, but I just wanted to hear from some people here... I'd rather hear from experience.

I would say that it could stay in the 55 for about 6 months max, but a standard 75 G would be better. I had three 14 inch tats in a 75 for a little over a year with no problem. All you fish in your sig should work fine. I think if you were to keep one for life a standard 125 would be a min.

IMO the 55g is stocked at its limit or past. So i would not put anythng else in it.

But with lower stocking levels a 4" tat could stay in a 55g a max of 1yr IMO.

By 6" they would need something bigger.

Thanks for the answers.

Past the limit? Nah. Heavily stocked? Yeah, maybe on paper, but the tank really isn't that crowded. Even with my four sens ranging from 7"-9", and my lapradei at 10", and BGK at 8", the tank always looks open. I know that's probably hard to believe. lol

I would tell anyone that wasn't me the same thing you told me, though... So I know where you're coming from. :)

I will most likely not get one, but I just wanted the info.;)

Thanks again.

i agree with you, youre not at all overstocked.
anyways, tats grow pretty slow, you'd be fine for a few months.

stump that would officialy be the sickest pred tank ever if u got a scomb :headbang2

 You weren't supposed to see this yet. lol

Thank you... I was hoping someone who isn't super-conservative would answer this. lol

hehe i am all knowing
but seriously go for it i thought about it but they are too expensive around here and i would most likely kill it before it had a chance to reach maturity lol

I wouldn't trust polys of that size with a 4 inch Tat. Hydros taste great to other fish. If you really want them to do well get a tank FOR Tats and get a group of them.

Furcifer you should post some pics of these 14 inch Tats! If truley 14 inch they would probobly be some of the largest Tats in the country. Unless you measure like a majority of this site where 14 inches really means 9-10 inches lol!
