hi everyone.. i have been doing a little research on pike cichlids and i am starting to gain some interest. do these guys make good tank mates with cichla? also can some one i.d. the pike photo i attached? i think it is a Crenicichla lenticulata. are they hard to find? how much do they usually cost? thank you everyone

yeah, that pike in the picture is a Lent....they are typically pretty aggressive and get to about 14 inches, give or take, I hear they can get larger though......But yeah, they can be good tank mates with Cichla as long and they are roughly the same size so they don't look at each other like prey.....>But the pike will most likely be more aggressive then the Cichla so watch them if you do something like that and make sure the pike has a place to call it's own for comfort.
 
As for as hard to find, earlier this year there was some going around. There was also some going around that people were saying were a strigata complex. But haven't seen any around lately. From what I am hearing, certain species are getting harder to get out of Brazil.
