I just got myself a female rotkiel severum, its about 4 inches, is it hard to get a male and female severum to pair up? , i've had severums and rotkiels for many years now, but i always had more than 2 pieces, so they would naturally pick their own pair,
but now, i have a female rotkiel, would it be hard to get her to pair up with a male rotkiel?

Also the new rotkiel i just bought , there's almost no redness on its neck, does the redness depend on the diet? or also on the size of the fish?

yeah they get more redness as they get bigger but females will also have less red than males, as for pairing them, i havent personally tried pairing them this way but i havent heard of anyone having any problems as long as the fish was younger, just rearrange the tank before adding him in and you shouldn't have any problems, especially if they are going into that 300g in your status

Rednessand depends on gender, diet, water quality, size, and genetics. I think the best breeding advice ive ever gotten is get 1 male for 3 females. Then sell the other females when the male has paired. If shes lacking alot of colors i wouldnt suggest it being a breeder anyway.
Sevs arent hard to breed. It just takes more care and patients.

thanks :) They are going into my 120 Gallon tank with a 10 inch arowana :)
the shop owner was complaining that the rotkiels did not have red on their body, but they are only 4 inches.
