Ello MFK,

Does anyone know a vendor that will sell clear PVC by the foot, in 1 foot increments?

What brand / type of spray-paint is safe for use inside a take? How well does it hold up?

Hold onto your socks, it aint cheap! I started down the path of doing my plumbing with clear pipe but the cost was way too high for me... and I decided the only advantage was being able to see how dirty the inside of the pipe looked. I decided to go with all black, no light = less algae buildup.

I've seen clear PVC websites but they all say "Note: Pipe is priced per foot and sold in 10' sections only." I only want 1 or 2 feet of pipe at 4" diameter, I do expect to pay $20-$30 per foot but I don't want to buy 10' worth for $200.


Anyone have any experience using paint for inside the aquarium? Let's say I wanted to paint the regular PVC black on my return pipe.

I myself have never used it, but I know many people that have used the Krylon spray on objects inside the tank with good results.
 
Yep, I've used Krylon numerous times.

If you go to craftics, I'm pretty sure you can buy a 3 foot piece. It wasn't anywhere near $20 per foot. At least half that.
