I have pink con who's fins are kind of clamped. dorsal fin is almost always flat against back, tail is narrow, and dorsal fins are always pointed down. I read that could be symptoms of some type of parasite. I'm treating with salt (the cure all) right now, as she is in a 20 gallon grow out with my GT. Her in there with the little GT is really my only option, as I don't want to risk a 2" GT with a 10" Oscar. Anybody know the name of the parasite and or the most effective medication? also what is the safest medication to use along with a juvie GT. The guy at my LFS recomended somethin (dont' remember what), but I wanted to see if I could get a consensus on here as well.

Bump.

Nobody knows of a parasite or any other condition that causes a fish to clamp its tail fin, and hold all other fins close to its body? I've been treating for parasites with Jungle Brand "Tankbuddies" for parasites. The box lists this fin condition as a parasite infection.

Its not getting worse, or spreading to any other fish, but the treatment isn't working (and I removed carbon from the filter). I've been treating for about three weeks now.

any ideas?

parasites should be visable in most cases.
if the fins are like that,i guessing the water parameters are not ideal for that fish.check ph.worst comes to worst use coppersafe or quickcure(blue liquid med)

water is fine. no other fish are displaying any symptoms. maybe old age? she's gotta be about 10 years old by now...
