So about a month ago I had two different jewels species successfully spawn in a 29 gallon, and after about two weeks I seperated both parents putting the female in a 75 and the male in a 55, as you can guess that 29 got too small real fast so I decided to put up a divider halfway through my 55 for them, still being small a good amount got through the divider and the last thing I expected happened. The male jewel is now protecting them again.... I took down the divider and sure enough he started to play dad again to the crew of about 200 jewels. This 55 has a convict, two opaline gouramis, rainbow cichlid and small escondido that don't even attempt to eat the babies either, so I'm guessing I just got really lucky with this one.
