Somebody actually stole our fire engine at a call....talk about BA!!$!!

We were at a call last week at the Tropicana Casino for a person stuck in the elevator. When we came down after sometime in the casino the engine was gone. The cops found it only a few blocks away. There are no keys for a fire engine and protocall is to always keep the piece running. Generally, there is always a cop posted at the scene for traffic. But it was a busy night and there were no cops around. What this article doesnt tell you is that the IDIOT left his wallet in the engine. We found it later that night. They also found the kid the next day at home in NY. You couldnt make this kind of stooooopid stuff up!!

I actually prolly would have called the kid if I had found the wallet and scared him half to death but give it back and make a good memory. Now, he's just screwed. He was also in the National Guard in NY. Being former military and still very much involved, he also just caught himself a "dishonorable". I hope not, but knowing the system.....Would of made a great "remember that night in A.C." story.

The article said fire truck. People need to know the difference between a truck and and engine!

I'm almost certain that it is government property...city or county just as a police vehicle would be.Im interested in what the charges turn out to be.....

The article said the truck was found in North Tower valet area.. Probably one of the Valet guys moved it...
