Somebody save this little girl

Went to a LFS today to look for some geo's and saw this little girl. She's in a 10 gallon tank by herself. Almost every tank in this store had dead fish in it and I'd hate that to happen to this ray. I know nothing about rays so I didn't want to take her and have her die in my tank. She's only $60. She's at Value Pet in Pennsauken, NJ. Don't know what kind she is. Only reason I know its a female is the lack of claspers. Hopefully someone on here will save her. Just a heads up to anyone that can help.

well it sounds like its time for you to learn about rays lol. also it is a retic. use the search and see if your up to the task you will be hooked once you do.

as bad as it is, the store would just get another one in its place, it is $60 for you or i, but $20 for them....you buy it they see +++$$$$+++...it dies in their tank they see ---$$$---....it is a crapy thing but it is fact....my friend works in a pet store, the owner saw pics of my arowana, next order 3 aros in stock...they had them in a 20gal...they sold fast at $50(they were getting them for $8), got 6 more in and they all killed eachother and they sold the surrvivor and will not get them for instock again...stores just need to see a loss and they tend to do special orders on those kinds of fish...

Yep you cant buy animals from shops to rescue them as their just get another. Just tell them what you think. I complained to 2 staff in biggest maidenhead aquatics in uk the other day about the state of their rays. Didnt give a toss though cos they make money from them.

$60 is a bit high for a retic. You can buy her and take her home if you have the right tank setup.
