I was doing a water change and noticed something on one of my geophagus. He is eating every night, swimming, I havent noticed any signs of stress.. Ive been doing some research and found another forum where someone posted the same issue with their geo, still cant figure out what it is could it be a cyst? Im not sure what to do at this point

Nitrates are at 0
Hardness is around 150 ppm
Chlorine 0
Alkalinity is between 120 and 180 ppm
pH is at around 6.8

Please Help!!

Thank you! I just called my LFS and they do not carry it so I will have to search around. I just caught him in a net to look at it up close and when I placed him back into the water, the white spot was gone and there was a red spot in place of where the white spot was. I am not sure if it is going to come back or not and if this helps with diagnosing what it could be. Would it be ok to wait a few days if I have to order the Prazi-Pro? Can I use something else that treats parasites? Also - can I leave my other fish in the tank while I treat it? They are all fairly large fish I would think they would be hardy enough

Argulus are swimming copepods. If it detached, it can still harm any fish in the tank by latching on again when it's hungry. It can also attach inside the gills so, it can cause damage without being seen.

Do you suggest ordering it and waiting for it to come in to treat the fish of buying a different type of medication like parasite guard from my LFS

I never had good results with parasite guard. Prazi-pro has always worked as a one-shot treatment for me.

Keep in mind that any of these antiparasitics will kill aquarium inverts (snails, shrimp, crayfish) and can harm live plants. Don't run carbon/resins during treatment.
