Found this little girl earlier today in one of my mango trees. Shes def not a native and there is no population of these animals known to have been established in Fl.

I love these! They are vine snakes. They are crazy about anoles, so I am sure he's quite content lol
 
They actually are not popular pets - I bet a pet store escapee, rather.
 
Florida is overrun with introduced species from the pet trade as well as from shipping...snakes go into containers after rodents and the like and get trapped. The friendly climate allows many of them to become established. Nothing anyone found in florida would surprise me at this point.
 
it looks like a central american/southwestern US species just because it has the brown on it. ill see if i can hunt down the scientific name. Sant I doubt a pet store let it out. They dont throw away things they can make a profit on, thats why they sell half dead imports :)
 
I don't think a pet store would LET IT GO - these guys are escape artists. You keeping it? They are rear fanged - their bite is very mild, but some people are allergic.
