Hi,

I bought two of these caitec stands. I was curious, is there a consensus whether there should be something placed between the aquarium and stand? The aquarium fits perfectly on the stand supports. And I don't think it'll fall off once filled with water. I was just curious what do other people do. Putting it directly on the stand gets me worried. probably because they are both such hard surfaces.

You shouldn't need to put anything between the stand top and aquarium bottom as long as the aquarium is the type with the plastic trim. Obviously the tank would set on the rails of the stand and not on the posts. Double check the stand instructions in case I'm wrong though.

A rimless or acrylic tank would need full bottom support using appropriate thickness plywood or similar material.

I never used that style of rod iron aquarium stand. Absolutely agree with D deeda about not placing anything between for all glass aquarium with plastic frame.
