What is with the leagues?

I think "leagues" are just a group of people who all keep that one species. Like clown loach league, etc. It started with one species and spread to a couple more.

Gr8 is right... it really doesn't do anything but give those people with that fish a feeling of belonging to a whole group of people who have the same fish. Basically just to say "I have this fish and belong to a group of people who keep the same"
