I've had this pond up and running for about 12 years. About 5 years ago I had a Baby RTC in there for the summer and at the time I was throwing some "rosies" in there for food. Well the cat grew up and out and about 4-5 rosies have been in there ever since, they winter over just fine and are about 3-4" long :WHOA: Well I was cleaning out my lilly pads and theres got to be about a 100 of these little guys swimmin around out of the koi's way !!!! Some are dark some are light and they really resemble little rosie's !!!! They are growing very fast and doubled in size in the week it took me to post this.

Anybody ever had rosies spawning in a pond ??? The dont look like Koi at all, but I do have a 18" Golden Orf, but only one...... no male/female.

Any ideas ?????

looks like rosy reds to me, they breed in my one year old pond, but not alot survive, are all those lilies from one plant?

Fathead minnows my friend. Errr....uh rosies as you like to call them.

i built my pond, threw in about 20 rosies to get it going (cycling it) nest thing i knew there where thousands of the lil guys swimmin in there. now ive got bluegill and green sunfish and the babies dont survive long, buit theres 3 or 4 rosies still left.

Look like rosies to me...
