something is wrong w/ my brasiliensis cichlid

hey guys...i have a brasiliensis cichlid and he is starting to get a lot of "craters" on his face...i was thinking he got into it with an other fish and lost...but i haven't seen him fight w/any others...does anyone know what this might be and if there is anyway i can stop it from spreading on him and my other fish???

Most likely he has Hole in the Head Disease
 
Yes it can, but he will most likely be permanently scarred... its not pretty

It is caused by bad water quality. Do more water changes, and there is medicine you can use.
 
kinda not true, you can reverse the effect of HITH and if it isn't bad enough it will heal over. My Oscar developed 2 big indents, one on each side of the front of his face because of the food that I had switched him over to because I ran out of the pellets I used to feed him, then I switched him back and the holes filled in.

Start upping your water changes.

This might be off topic, but are you from NW IN and did you get the fish from a guy named Jason? (I know its a shot in the dark, but just checking)
