Hey guys, so I am cycling a tank after New Tank Syndrome. Nothing is in the tank, and I believe fishhead0103666 fishhead0103666 brought up something about the end of my filter. The filter doesn't have a cap on it, meaning the (I think it is called) HOV Cap (??). I dont know if it is called that, but I was wondering where to get one. The filter is a TopFin 75.

Are you referring to the end of the intake tube in the water? If so, you need to find an intake strainer to fit the end to avoid sucking in fish or objects.

You will need to go to a place that sells the Top Fin 75 filter to find what you are looking for.

I dont see any parts for topfin filters anywhere. You may just have to measure the tube and find a generic part that will fit like in the link below. Putting a peice of sponge over the end may also be an option.

D deeda , that is the part I was thinking of. It was you, not fish head who mentioned it in my first post. Will get pics. Not at my house currently

Oh sorry! james99 james99 , I didn’t see your post. In the morning I will measure the tube length and figure out how the heater works.

In the meantime it's a good idea to stick a piece of course sponge over the intake. If you got a cube of it laying around just cut an X in the middle with a knife and stick it over, if you your a small flat piece maybe tie it with fishing line/string or use a zip tie.
