I have 2 fire eels and a golden dojo loach in my tank with other fish, and when I feed frozen blood worms, it's fun to watch. I put the cubes in a small bowl of water til it melts, then I pour them down a clear plastic tube so the current doesn't scatter it too much. The dojo will come up to the blood worms and surround it, while eating. But that doesn't work, the fire eels either slip under or over him and sucks up all the blood worms like vacuums. The fire eels are now about 9 inches, and the dojo about 8 1/2 inches.

Hiya LWB, welcome to MFK. Do you ever feed them live tubifex or blackworms? Try releasing a clump of them just above the gravel and watch the eels and dojo go to work.

ya i feed mostly only live food to my fish blood worm wise. i dont use frozen alot hasle. live is better i think but i have frozen foods

Be careful with live tubifex though, as they're notorious for carrying parasites. Anyway, I think that dojos are VERY underrated fish. They're personable and can be kept properly in coldwater or tropical tanks, not to mention that they'll eat just about everything.

If you can find someone who farms tubifex or buys cultivated ones hang on to them.

LBW....where do yaz live in Washington? If you are near the Tri-cities go to Aqua Tropics in Kennewick.....they have live cultured tubiflex and black worms....pretty good too! I used to get mine there all the time. $20 for half a pound....lasts a looong time! LOL

Ah yes, that was another thing that I loved about mine, the hand feeding. I'll have to pick up some more. :D
