A couple of weeks ago I grabbed a bunch of duckweed out of a pond at my parents house for my tanks. I had recently brought my goldfish in for the winter from my pond and I added some of the duckweed to the tank I am keeping them in. This is where I noticed it first. About a week after adding the duckweed I noticed these strange cone shaped things stuck to a few ofuploadfromtaptalk1414960982936.jpguploadfromtaptalk1414960997366.jpg the fishes lips. I netted one of the larger fish out to examine more closely, and it literally looked like a kind of burr from some plant that I remember picking off my clothes when I was little after playing outside. So as I had done then, I simply plucked them off the fishes lip and through it back in. Fish seemed fine but I still thought it was bizarre. Now I noticed it on an angel in another tank where I had added the duckweed. Did the same thing but now I'm worried that it could be some kind of strange parasite or something?? I have no idea though and I'm hoping someone else might have some insight or confirm it really is just a burr like a originally thought and the fish are trying to eat them and they're getting stuck. Pics aren't great but hopefully someone can help. Sorry for the essay and thanks in advance.
