When i was thawing out my silversides i grabbed a handfull to throw in my tank and my datnoide slams the water (like he always does) and throws out a fish.

I think it was a baby flounder, it was about 3 inches long, totally brown and i could see its little beady eyes on one side.

It freaked my out because i have never seen something in my fish food that wasent supposed to be there until now. But i just threw it in the tank and shortly after got eaten.

I was going to take pics but i couldent find the camera.

Has this happend to anyone else?

IDK about as food, but as an avid fisherman with a strict no live bait polacy, I have found some wierd things in with frozen Silversides. Just this morning I found a beautiful little Killifish. it was chocolate brown with dark bands. I regularly find Three Spined Sticklebacks, which I have NEVER seen while netting which I've done for years. I even found a Shrimp.

Do they not pick out the abnormalities? I have no clue on how the whole collecting/sorting process goes about.

That's the problem. It doesn't. They trawl nets and just dump everything on the deck. Whether or not it's a Silverside...or even a legal catch...it eventually suffocates usually.
How 'bout details from the other ppl who said the found wierd stuff?

i found a dried out crab in with my silversides....i kept it as a memento... i will get a pic later.
