tomato frog, its nose is turning white.I dont have a cam right now for pics.Just picture its snout for about an 8th inch being white.Im gonna go check him right now.Clean the cage up and look at the texture.Anyone know whats up?My first frog. Here is an old pic.new9.JPG

An updated pic would be better. Could just be from nose rubbing. Some herps get it when in glass cages. From enclosure inadequacy and such...

I know that a newer pic with the actual subject and marking would be best:nutkick::nutkick::nutkick::nutkick::nutkick::nutkick:you know I just cleaned its cage and took him out for inspection. Its not white anymore,it just looks like he rubbed some of the red off.He digs very often and he likes to be half dug under the log and his face stickin out the side.He also kicks it in the open alot.Seems like a very happy growing docile frog.Hes been fun to have,I dont know why more ppl dont get them.Anyways,I think your right and hes just rubbing it from digging,I was just making sure because it looked white a few days ago but maybe it was a fresh wound.I cant wait to get a cam so I can show him off more,so anyone else think this can be something worse?Kearth, are you out their, lol? An update pic would be better, listen to this guy^^^^^.lol

wait,I found one on the net with the same crap, this frog is not near as good looking as mine but its got the same mark, maybe worse.Must be from rubbing.tomato_frog.jpg

alright I found more pics, mine looks so much better than these guys for some reason, anyways, this is exactly how mines nose looks.Sorry this thread may help somebody else,if not then sorry.TomFrogFwzb14.jpg

Hey,
I would say it may be nose rub as well.

What do you use for substrate?

A easy quick fix for nose rub it Neosporin ( with out pain reliever). Just put a glove on dab some on your finger and gently cover the white part. MAke sure to not cover the nostrils. Couple days of that and he should be good to go. 1-2 times a day.

mine has it on one of his back legs im pretty sure its just rubbing because they do that half dug in to the substrate by shimmying. ill get pics for you later
