Something wrong with the side of my aro?? Info please

One of my blacks I noticed yesterday has a golf ball sized area on its side that actually looks bruised. The area has that brownish-yellow color an old bruise would. Also in the area it looks as if the scales are lifting a bit. From a head on view you can see a raise or bulge on the one side?? Weird thing is the aro is still eating ok and seems to have no mobility effect from it. Any1 have any idea what this could be? can a fish get a bruise from crashing into an object or a buyy from another fish?

I've had other fish that were banged up, but their scales were all the way off.
I do not know what would cause the scales to lift and not come all the way off...

I think if it got hit, or hit something they could lift a little bit., but as zennzzo stated they usually fall off. I would keep an eye on it for a few days and see if it starts to get better
