My little brown bullhead, Dwight, has red bumps on his dorsal fins, tail, and anal fin, and some discoloration on his belly, though that could just be his normaly coloration since I dont see him or his belly that often, but it does look patchy. I'm pretty sure its not ick, my best friend who I grew up with kept hundreds of fish had a few of his get it, and this doesnt look familiar... He's only about 3 inches tops, and lives with Dudley, a slightly smaller black bullhead, and Barney the bluegill, also only about 2 inches, and Carmen, an 8 inch American eel. I honestly have no idea of the ammonia, pH, temperature or anything of that sort about my tank... I work at a nature center, and all of the fish were caught in our park. The cats were living on exhibit with a channel cat, who was getting a little too big, so my boss just gave them to me knowing I had a tank with an invisible eel in it. We pretty much just do it the old fashioned way, the tank is mostly tap water, with about 1/4 pond water for all the added goodies, and the water is just plain old room temp, and its worked just fine at the nature center for years with zero deaths as long as I've been working there. All of the fish are native to VA, so the water parameters should pretty much all be the same...

Now my dad said he has seen the bluegill picking on the cats, kicking them out of the hide spots, etc, and I have noticed a few nicks in their fins, though its quite possible they were from the old channel cat, who I was told was not exactly their best friend.

I've only had all my little guys for about 3 months, but their antics are hilarious to watch and the eel is just plain cool, and no matter how long I've had them or what they are, all my pets are my buddies, and I've already had 2 traumatic snake and geckos deaths this year, so I would not be a happy camper with one less catfish....

What's wrong with my little Dwight??? :help2:

Also, any one know how fast these guys, or american eels or bluegills for that matter, grow? I've had them for 3 months and have noticed some growth, but not too much... And I don't want anyone outgrowing anybody, that would be a dilemma....

Anybody???

IDK but I hope he is ok for you.
