So I had a 29g black trim, stand and top that I bought a while ago, then I bought a oceanic 55g woodish trim, wooden stand and canopy. I got tired of the mismatched tanks, so I sold my black 29g and all the contents, and bought the matching 29g from the guy who sold me my 55g. I added a new top and bulb on the strip, and started from scratch. I went with 2 filters, an aquaclear 50 and the crappy one off my old tank. I added pea gravel substrate, 3 nice fake plants and some malaysian driftwood, then I stocked it as a pleco/loach/growout tank. Here's what I went with: 2 2" pbass (no idea on species), a 2.5" tsn, 2 2" clown loaches, a 4" gold nugget, a 3" butterfly pleco, a 1" clown pleco, a 1" albino chocolate pleco, and a 1" common pleco. The pbass and the tsn will definitely get bigger tanks as necessary, and someday I will have a large pleco/loach tank.

How does this sound????? I would definitely love some feedback.

I will update with pics later this week.

It sounds alright. I recommend putting a lot of wood in the tank. The GN can be very aggressive towards other bottom dwellers. Also keep in mind that they do not get too much bigger around 5.5" max size. What kind of pleco is the "Butterfly pleco"? Hillstream loach, Veiled Ancistrus Temmincki or L168?

Some of the fish are intended to go to friends and/or much bigger tanks in the future. I am planning on getting more wood in the tank as soon as I find some I like. I like the size of the GN, and I like that it doesn't get massive. I definitely want the best for the fish, and will accomodate to them accordingly.

The butterfly pleco has its own thread, titled "picked up this cat for a nice price" or something like that. It has a pic and a small description.

:frog: you got it pretty much covered, but when they start growing it will get to be a sardine can. But if you are growing some for friends you should be fine.

More upgrades!get some bigger tanks to grow those monsters in theyll be heathier adults if they have more swimming room to develop muscles when young

Some will move to the 55g when they get more acclimated to the water, and I'm in the process of looking to get at least a 125g in the next few months. The fish in the 29g don't seem too overcrowded yet, but I know as they grow I will definitely give them some more space. I just don't want my oscar eating those expensive feeders lol.

Also, I live in an apartment where we are not suppossed to have a tank over 10g, so that is hindering my hobby a bit having to be very sneaky about my tanks. I am moving into a house in july, and should have more room for bigger tanks.
