Son's new puffer

Well my son convinced me to get him a puffer for the guppy tank so I picked up this little guy. Sold as a pea puffer so I hope it is. Very interesting little fellow. Never owned a puffer before. It seems to be always hunting. Right now I'm feeding it live blackworms, froZen bloodworms and flame food that it takes for the guppies. I'm sure it's eaten a few baby guppies also. Threw in some ghost shrimp but they're still alive. I have him in the 30gallon guppy tank.

Looks like a pea puffer ☺ I personally would ask the lfs to give you a couple of small snails if they have any in their aquariums would help with the little puffers beak. If the puffer nipped off the ghost shrimp that would help also.

I went and bought some plants from petco that had a bunch of snails in the tank. Have a few hitch hikers thy came with the plants. Also bought 4 mystery snail and hopefully they'll breed so he'll have some baby snails to eat.

That's a good suggestion about asking LFS for snails. One of mine just gives them to me for free

Update: it's been eating well on live blackworms and frozen bloodworms. So far it hasn't bothered the guppies. Fat belly after stuffing itself with live blackworms.
