Haverhill. MA
so i have 2 little oscars there about 8inch now had them for almost a year
i bought the RBPacu when it was like 2 or 3 inches and now he is about 10 and has grown FAST! i got him in december

now he is trying to kill the oscars, one of them is really beat up. i have a spare tank but its only a 20g and there in a 125gal the pacu like stalks them into a corner and just wait for a chance to attack i tried to put some seperator in the tank and he trys to jump over it to get at teh oscars and just splashes water everywhere, so i took it out cuz yesterday he jumped out

personality issues indeed.

all 4 pacu ive owned have been scared of their own shadow, and would and still DO run from little 2" convicts.

what ya do to your pacu as a baby to make him a killer?? lock him in the closet one too many times with no dinner???

Might have a point; try feeding your pacu extra, maybe with a really full belly, he may mellow out some.

I had a really well fed rbp and he tried to attack my 20 inch ck Hank. The pacu was only about 8 inches long. I've seen it, and unfortunately, Paco the pacu had to go. He went to my friend's pond, and is now a foot long. Dunno what he's done to his large mouth bass, but they still see him every now and then. lol

Pacu can be mean, depends on the fish, and I don't think they ever get over it either. I'd lose the pacu; he's going to be too big for the tank soon anyway.

wow. i agree with everyone else in that you need to ditch that pacu-they really need huge tanks (or ponds on your property that dont lead anywhere!) to be happy in. im surprised he is so aggressive.

i wasent trying to have a point. i was making a pathetic attempt at humor. altho, maybe feeding him more, and varied foods is a good idea :)

i noticed my pacu go absolutely crazy over grapes, even my tiger oscar would take down 1 or two sometimes. try them and other fruits, nice cheap way to add in some extra food.
