soon to be monster flower....

figured i would show this monster off
no clue what it will look like when it pops
but when it does its going to be big
the flower is connected to the cactus that is in the single pot on top of the dirt in the big pot
anyone know what kind of cactus it is so i can google for a pic of what the flower will look like?
ive been waiting a few weeks already for it to pop
sure takes a long time to open

WWWWWWWWOOOOOOOWWWWW Ive serched quite a long time for a beaty like that and havent still find one only a smaller species What you have there my friend is a Huernia sp or a simililar genus Very interesting suculent plants from south africa(no they are not cactus) that emit thouse huge flowers By the way if you havent find that yet yourself clouse your nouse when your loking at the flower because like all smillar plants this plant´s flower smells like roting meat The porpose of that is to atract the plant polinizer´s wich are flies. The flower it self , when opened looks kind of like a carcase, many times being yellow or deep red or rose with black dots so to fool the flies into thinking its a carcase they are landind on, not a flower. Amazing plants

i searched and only see the small flowers under that name
but i also seen theres 60 kinds of those
no smell yet lol
this should be cool when it pops

its not the lil stuff on the bottom its the one in the lil pot

Its not a huernia, its a Stapelia, probably gigantea going by the size of the but, but maybe a hybrid. http://www.cacti.co.nz/plant_list.asp?alpha=S#stapeliagigantea
The flower will almost certainly stink, and you may find that flies lay eggs in it. They are pretty impressive though!
