In search of Leiarius
The tank is 120 gallon definate fish are 3 angelfish, 1 blackghost knife, 1 albino senegal bichir, 1 ropefish.

here is what iam having trouble choosing from, want to narow this list down to two, two of one or two different ones.

Please post yes, no, or maybe behind each name and why
Looking for the fish that wont fin nip, and will peacefully live with the other fish in my tank.

Tropheus moorii

Altolamprologus calvus

Geophagus altamira

Neolamprologus brichardi

Thorichthys (Cichlasoma) meeki

Tropheus sp. Red "Moliro"

Geophagus surinamensis

Heros severus

Cryptoheros sajica

Thorichthys maculipinnis(elliotti)

I don't know what your water conditions are in terms of pH/hardness, etc. but I'll assume all these cichlids were bred in the same type of water you have, or acclimated to it, so here goes:

Tropheus moorii: no, too aggressive, and need specialized setups

Altolamprologus calvus: maybe, but would not do it.


Geophagus altamira: yes

Neolamprologus brichardi: no, too aggressive

Tropheus sp. Red "Moliro": same as for T. moorii

Geophagus surinamensis: yes, might be worth shot

Heros severus: Yes, seen people do it, just keep an eye

Cryptoheros sajica: maybe, depends on individual fish imo

Thorichthys (Cichlasoma) meeki: maybe, it could work, firemouths sometimes are not too aggressive, but might be too much for the angel

Thorichthys maculipinnis(elliotti): maybe, probably similar to meeki
