Right, now I am starting to worry >>>

My RTC developed 2 blotches/sores over these last 2 months, one on his underbelly and one on a whisker.
The underbelly one is basically it light red/pink colour, while the one on his whisker is darker (purple/blue).

I've done around 6 or more water changes (30-50%) during those 2 months and it doesn't seem to have
made any impact at all. I even added a UV-Light equipped canister filter to the filtration and still nothing.

The sore/blotches aren't growing, as I have been watching them closely, but they also aren't shrinking.
They don't appear to irritate him at all, as he still swims fine, eats fine and doesn't make any attempts to
rub up against things. I've tried taking pics, but he moves too damn much and the marks aren't really big
enough to be seen from a slight distance.

Does anybody have ANY sort of information that they can maybe lend to this?
I'd also appreciate information regarding chemical meds, etc. as I haven't tried any yet.

Can you provide more information about tank setup and water quality; ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, pH, etc. Pictures would also help of the sores themselves.

A general cure that I've used in the past for minor issues is increased water changes and the addition of aquarium salt as per the directions on the packaging. Without more information I would not be looking to go with potentially harsh medications.

50% weekly or more should probablly be done... Kevin's right about needing more basic info.. fishes size.. and tank size and water perameters... but def agree water quality is usually sufficent. salt often helps too but I rarely feel its neccisary unless you start seeing signs of infection/redness.

Also depends on how big the rtc is, what size the tank is and if there are any tank mates. Once W/C per Week should be minimum regardless.
True. I do weekly water changes and daily ones with my bowfin fry. OP needs to give a little more info.

I think it should be at least a 30% wc a week I had a tsn n by the time it was a foot it was a messy messy fish. Could be ammonia burns.

This is interesting. My RTCs barely ever move. If yours moves that much that you cant get pics i would assume he is not happy and they could be stress related. My RTCs usually only move when my RTC/TSN hybrid comes near and nips at them. I'm curious what all you have in the tank and what size it is. If it's ammonia burns you are doing something wrong. In point of fact if it isnt ammonia burns and they are stress related youre doing something wrong.
I think 3 water changes a month is very bad advice but to each their own(unless you're talking african rift lake fish, i hardly ever do water changes on my african tanks). I personally do 100-300 gallons per day water changes on my pool. Cats and big fish are messy and i like clean water not to mention i have 3k gallons worth of filtration on a 1015 gallon pool.
Lets say it is ammonia burns or stress related, you have the cat in too small a tank that is over crowded and over fed and i would assume not enough filtration.
