Went to the pet store today and found 5 dyed red tail botias, one has a really bad infection. After some convincing I walked out with all of them for $8. I usually don't buy dyed fish but didn't want to leave them there for somebody who wouldn't care for them properly. Anyways, what does this look like to you? I've added melafix, salt, and raised my temp to 80*. The fish seems to be acting fine but looks horrible!

I thought the same thing for a second but better safe than sorry. It affects the belly the worst, you can tell from two of the pictures. You'd hate me if I told you what tank I decided to QT this zombie like botia in LOL.

They do not look like sores to me at all....The look like pigment diferentials...Do they feel to have, or appear to have any texture?

It's hard to tell from the pics. I was thinking lymphocystis but it doesn't look like it. Lymphocystis is an incurable viral disease found often with dyed fish.
