Thank you for your replies. You confirmed what I guess I already knew. There have been eggs ( 2 times) but they never make it to hatching. So no success lead me to question possibly having 2 females. They constantly excavate their tank and clean their pot. Always at each others side and non stop nudging. I have them in a 125 with a couple of convicts. Maybe someday they'll get it right. I really just want to see a big jaguar spawn.
(from what ive always read) fish typically are sexed by their dorsal and bottom fins...if the rear is pointy, its generally male....if rounded, female.
this isnt always the case, as my electric yellow lab cichlid is male with rounded fins, but its a safe bet
