Sorubim lima shovelnose catfish help

im gettting a lima shovelnose catfish and i want to put it in a qt tank and add salt and raise the temp to 86 to make sure it doesnt have anything. how much salt can i add 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons?

That seems ideal for a quarantine tank. I use less than that in the main tanks though.

If it does turn out to have ick or something the dose can be safely doubled.

ok and how long should i keep them in the tank for?

2 weeks is long enough

I suggest using that much ONLY if it has ick... It is a catfish-use less salt than suggested for normal fish. They are very sensitive to salt. I suggest you use about 3/4 or 1/2 the suggested amount on the carton.
