Please help.:WHOA: I've recently given birth to a cute little 600 gallon and I founf today that it was leaking from a corner. It appears to be concentrated on a small hole due to the pooling in a single area. I tried putting caulk but made more of a mess than anything, I was wondering if I took another tube of silicone and used a pin like hole to squeeze silicone into the leak?

Pictures are below. Hoping for a fix, I know I could drain it and do a concrete seal job from the inside...but for the time being, a couple days hopefully, I a hoping there is a way to stop this leak.

try some milliput, its a modeling putty (also used to repair boats) that can cure/set uderwater, and once set its waterproof. i figure if you're trying to seal it from the outside then you'll need to apply pressure to it until it sets.

I agree....that should work for now but the only thing to fully solve it is from the inside...but the caulking is a good enough bandaid for now....do you have any fish in there?

That's a toughy with big tanks. But I agree with the draining and resealing from the inside.

Thanks. I am going to reseal it tomorrow probably. Where woud I get this milliput? I would rather hold off emptying it for about a week due to some time constraints. I am trying to cycle the water right now, guess all the startup solutions were a waste of money as I'me going to hav to start the process over.

All that's in the tank now is a Large Mouth and a couple War Mouths. I have some Fremouths and Green terrors in a 55 which will be added to the tank once this seal is fixed and I get the water to where it needs to be.

Take it down, do it right the first time...

That is the first step to setting up even a brand new Aquarium.
LEAK TESTING...
Even after you repair it, and it cures...
LEAK TESTING...

We all have tried a bandaid approach for quick repairs, and in my opinion there is no such thing...Time constraints are just the reason to do it right one time and one time only...

over here(uk) i get it from an indipendant modelk shop. im pretty sure gamewsworkshop sell a similar product ( i should know, use to work for them) and i used to get it from one of our chain hobby stores (they use it with airfix kits) otherwise ebay or google it. its rel cheap though. about £3/$4 for 125g, which will roll out to about 12 inches

i just had a thought... the stuff sets underwater, assuming your fish wont try and eat it while it does, you coud seal from the inside, without draining.
