ok so i think i know what i am going to do with my 120 Gallon tank

which measures 5' long 2' deep and 18" wide

has 2x 300W Stealth Heaters

and filtered with a Rena filstar xp3

Stocklist

- 4x pangasius catfish (already have these)
- 1x 7" Pleco (already have him, need more?)
- 1x Green Terror (already have him maybe 2-3")
- 2x Electric blue dempseys (Pair male, female)
- 3x Oscars (tiger, albino tiger, red)
- possibly a crayfish or crab?? (girlfriend wants me to keep one or the other i dont know about it tho)
- 2x parrots (once they outgrow her 29 gallon)

Stocklist sound good?

Should i add more filtration? (hob filter/s)

all fish will be gotten as juvies except the 2 parrots

sounds ok for now, but I would add a filter in the event of a failure from the main one. However, when all of the fish get larger you'll either have to cut back or watch them die/kill each other.

ok ill probably get two more HOB filters then, because one would seem out of place and bug me lol

so two:

top fin power filter 60's ~80$

Penguin 200B ~80$

or

Whisper EX70 ~90$

i know 110's would be best but i dont have the money for that right now

can someone tell me about the crayfish and crab i have no experience in this area and would like to know a little more about them, or at least direct me to what section, would it be bottom dwellers?

even if i start them all out together?

in my girlfriends 29 Gallon she has a pair of yellow labs and red zebras(along with the parrots) and they have been living with a guppy for 4 months now and dont bother it at all, i know its a lucky little fish

id recommend you jsut getting a eheim pro 3 or fx5 instead of the hob

as for your stock list... those fish might grow pretty fast and your tank can be over crowded soon. and watch the paired jack dempseys.. my friend had a pair in his tank and when they spawned, they tore up every fish in the tank...

and as for the crayfish and crabs... crayfish are nice to have with other peaceful fish, go to liveaquaria.com and they have a good choice of crayfish in thier... with stock your gunna have, they might get eaten :/. uhh crabs need to come up for air so i iono if you should add those to the tank. my lfs use to sell red crabs that stayed under water... but yeah

btw welcome and post some pics soon :D

The pangs will need to be upgraded, and most crustaceans don't mix well with fish in freshwater.
