does ur oscar make sounds when it eats??
mine makes the sound of when u stretch out a long spring stretch it out and flick it.....?
kinda weird huh? it sounds metallic actually

should i be worried that he makes these sounds?
also he only makes these sounds when hes eating medium sized hikari pellets

Lol he's just chewing the pellets. All my monsters make the same noise, I think its hilarious. Try feeding them something like grasshoppers, that REALLY makes a lot of noise!

Your feeding floating food aren't you:) THis is common for not only Oscar but other large fish that eat flooting or food near the surface.. They are just water poppin :) Not a problem

My O used to that as well when I was feeding him Hikari pellets. He will be fine....just chewing his food.

At my work there is a pond and they throw fish food in there and all the little bluegill come up and do that. It is funny you hear them making noise for like a straight 5 min and there are hundreds in there.

no its not the popping noise when they come to the top of the water

first he comes and takes the pellets then he goes below and chews, except
that he makes some weird metallic sound

Like I said, its him chewing. All mine make the same metallic sound no matter what I feed them, if it requires chewing. Nothing to worry about.

Hehe, just kiddin. Mine does that too he's just crunching. I love to hear fish eat like that...You should try and hear a puffer crunch snails and shells...crazy.
